2020年1月17日（金）、160名を超す参加者のもと、リーガロイヤルホテル「山楽の間」で、恒例の新年パーティーが盛大に開催されました。冒頭で、1995年1月17日に発生した阪神淡路大震災の犠牲者に黙祷を捧げました。そのあと、壇上では、駐大阪・神戸米国総領事館から広報担当領事のアリシア・エドワーズ様、政府代表／特命全権大使（関西担当）の山本条太様、JASO細川会長、バート副会長、福永常任理事による恒例の鏡開きが執り行われ、福永常任理事のご発声のもと、皆様とともに日本酒で乾杯しました。乾杯後は、日米の食材を使用した料理が供される中、ミニコンサートが行われ、圧巻の歌声とギターの演奏が会場を盛り上げ、新年の門出を華やかに祝いました。パーティーの後半では、毎回、皆様が楽しみにされている、航空券をはじめとした豪華賞品が当たる抽選会が行われ、大いに盛り上がりました。
On January 17, 2020, more than 160 people attended the 2020 New Year’s Party at RIHGA Royal Hotel. At the beginning, we dedicated silence to the victims of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake on January 17, 1995. After that, we held an annual Kagamibiraki ceremony led by U.S Consulate General Osaka-Kobe, Public Affairs, Ms. Alicia Edwards, Representative of the Government of Japan Ambassador of Kansai Region, Mr. Jota Yamamoto, JASO President Mr. Yoshio Hosokawa, Vice President Mr. Julian F. Burt, and Executive Director Mr. Katsuya Fukunaga. We made a toast with Japanese Sake after Mr. Fukunaga brief speech. After that, a mini-concert was held while dishes using Japanese and American ingredients were served. The amazing voice and the performance of the guitar made the venue exciting and celebrated the start of the New Year. In the raffle draw – offering a variety of luxurious prizes donated by the companies and from the members– the lucky person of the day was presented with the final grand prize of a pair round trip ticket from Osaka to Seattle in USA kindly donated by Delta Airlines.
